About Impact Windows Melbourne

Impact Windows Melbourne replaces windows and doors on Space Coast homes with impact-rated products, and installs hurricane shutters for owners who would rather protect the glass they have. We do not do roofing, stucco restoration, structural repair of block or wood framing, or new home construction. If removing an old window shows rotten framing, cracked block or water damage inside the wall, we stop, show you, and price the repair separately or tell you which trade to call.

How a project runs

• Measure first. We visit, measure every opening, note which rooms are bedrooms that need an escape-size window, and check the walls the frames will anchor into.
• Price it opening by opening. The written estimate lists each window, door and shutter, the product line, the glass, and the Florida Product Approval number for it.
• Handle the permit. Window, door and garage door work needs a permit in Melbourne, and unincorporated Brevard County requires one for shutters as well. We file it with the right office for your address and include the product approvals and installation instructions the building department asks for.
• Order and schedule. Impact products are made to measure. Once they arrive we set install dates and tell you which rooms we will be in on which day.
• Install and inspect. Old units come out, new ones go in with the fasteners and spacing the approval calls for, and the building department inspects before the permit is closed.
